Architecture Programs in Sevilla

A purpose-built, faculty-centered study abroad experience in one of Europe’s most architecturally layered cities.

SEVILLA AS A LIVING LABORATORY

Sevilla offers an exceptional architectural landscape shaped by centuries of cultural layers. Roman foundations, Islamic urban principles, Mudéjar craftsmanship, Gothic and Renaissance interventions, and contemporary design coexist in a dense, walkable city center.

Plaza de España

Constructed for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, the Plaza de España exemplifies Spain’s architectural blend of Renaissance Revival and Neo-Mudejar styles, symbolizing unity among the nation’s provinces.

Metropol Parasol (Las Setas)

Completed in 2011, this innovative wooden structure by architect Jürgen Mayer merges modern engineering with public space design, redefining the heart of Sevilla’s historic center.

Seville School of Dramatic Arts

18th-century building known for being a breeding ground for great performers such as Pablo de Olavide

Torre Sevilla

Completed in 2016, Torre Sevilla rises 180 meters above the Guadalquivir River as a symbol of the city’s forward-looking urban development and economic vitality.

Academic Model & Sample Courses

Using Sevilla as an active field of study, undergraduate and graduate architecture programs can be customized around 12–15 in-person credit hours. Options may include a six-credit design studio and three-credit courses in contemporary issues, media, construction, and related areas. Course combinations are developed with each partner institution to align with its curriculum, credit requirements, and academic goals.
